The network ratings are based on 10 packets (one packet/second) ping tests with 200
byte packets between our Internet connection (DS3's to Sprint, MCI, UUNET) and a ping-able
server for each network.
Packet losses is rated in 5% increments on the Internet Health
image on each page of our site. 0% packet loss is rated "GREEN" (best)
while packet above 0% are rated lower, with 30% or more packet loss listed as
"RED" (worse). This page is updated every
30 minutes (15 and 45 minutes after the hour). Press reload or refresh to see changes.
This page is not an indication
that one Internet Service Provider is superior to another. Rather, it
is intended to be an indication of Internet health from the
perspective of OUR connection here to assist clients with possible
latency issues when connecting to systems on our network.
